We are a men’s and women’s basket club – we have over 25 men’s/boy’s and women’s/girl’s teams from U8 Academy to adult Super League level.

Father Mathews was originally founded as a youth Club by the Williamson brothers Jim, Pat and Kevin founded in 1973 in the South Parish, Cork city. The club has been playing basketball on the south side ever since initially fielding a mens team in the local league in Cork. In 2002 Ger Gibbons set up a juvenile section of the club sparking the evolution that led to the thriving basketball club for all that exists today.

We are the only basketball club on the South Side of Cork City with senior men’s and women’s teams – an area with a population of over 100,000 – our Arena is located at Eden Hall, Model Farm Road We have ambition to grow our club with greater success on the court and an increased profile within the community on the South Side of Cork
